We are Bronco Motorsports, the Cal Poly Pomona Formula Society of Automotive Engineers (FSAE) team. At Bronco Motorsports, we embody Cal Poly Pomona's "learn by doing" philosophy through research and rigorous application, aiming for excellence as we compete on both national and international stages.

Faculty Advisors:

  • Dr. Castro is an Assistant Professor at Cal Poly Pomona in the department of Mechanical Engineering. Dr. Castro completed his undergraduate at Cal Poly Pomona in Mechanical Engineering with minors in Physics and Energy Engineering. Then received a Ph.D. from the University of California, Riverside with a focus on fluid flow for low-cost medical diagnostics. His research interests vary quite a bit but are generally within Bioapplications.

  • Dr. Ramirez is an Assistant Professor at Cal Poly Pomona in the department of Mechanical Engineering. Dr. Ramirez completed his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Minor in Materials Science from Cal Poly Pomona. Dr. Ramirez further completed a Ph.D., in Mechanical Engineering with an Emphasis in Solid Mechanics, from UCLA. Dr. Ramirez’s area of specialty is in experimental and computational solid mechanics as well as deformation and failure in materials subjected to extreme environments.
